Seafood Staples
Below is a list of seafood kitchen staples that we always have on hand for easy, quick seafood meals.
FRIDGE:
- Lump and jumbo lump crab meat
- Atlantic Sea Farms fermented seaweed salad, sea-chi and sea beet kraut
- We purchase fresh seafood (most often tuna, salmon, cod or haddock, mussels and scallops) from our local fish market, The Clam Man, once or twice a week
- We also try to purchase fresh seafood “at the docks” straight from the fishermen and women, as often as we can
- If you do not have a local fish market or a place to purchase very fresh fish, Fulton Fish Market is a great option – they deliver nationwide. After you place your order, you can receive your seafood in as little as 48 hours
FREEZER:
- Frozen shrimp – look for those with a sustainability certification
- Frozen tuna steaks
- North Coast Seafoods has two lines of frozen seafood that we purchase – Chef’s Catch and Naked Seafood
- Ready-cut kelp and kelp cubes from Atlantic Sea Farms
PANTRY:
- Canned salmon
- Canned tuna (we prefer tuna in olive oil) – we love Ocean Naturals
