🌴Christmas and New Year’s in the Keys is a very di 🌴Christmas and New Year’s in the Keys is a very different kind of holiday experience! Seemed more like summer vacation than the holidays; we filled our days with activities, lots of fish (eating and catching) and plenty of nothing at all. No schedules, nowhere we had to be - and that part was glorious!

🎄I definitely missed the magic of Christmas morning at home, it’s just not the same when you are away. Also, had some fomo about missing a white Christmas in Maine, but those feelings passed quickly when I remembered that winter would be staying around there at least until May 😬. Plenty more white stuff to come!

🎅Santa still arrived in Maine on Christmas Eve, so we were able to celebrate again when we got home. Lexi made sure Santa knew where we would be at all times. 🥰

A big thanks to my parents, @sheamimi and PopPop, for letting us take over their condo (and lifestyle) for a couple weeks. We love you and can’t wait to see you soon. ♥️♥️

🥗Cranberry Vinaigrette. If you (like us) have left 🥗Cranberry Vinaigrette. If you (like us) have leftover canned or homemade cranberry sauce or jelly leftover from holiday meals, save this recipe for the easiest cranberry vinaigrette.

My go-to vinaigrette (originally saw it years ago on an America’s Test Kitchen episode) typically is: 1/2 cup evoo + 1/4 cup red wine vinegar + 1 tbsp Dijon + 1 tbsp maple syrup + pinch garlic powder + salt and pepper to taste.

For this cranberry version, skip the maple syrup and garlic powder and use 2-3 tbsp of cranberry sauce or jelly instead. It’s tart, tangy, slightly sweet and perfect for any simple green holiday salad.

Cranberry Vinaigrette
Makes: about 1 cup
Ingredients:
1/2 cup evoo (your best)
1/4 cup red wine vinegar or sub white wine vinegar
2-3 tbsp cranberry sauce or jelly
1 tbsp Dijon
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions: whisk (or shake) all ingredients together. Pour over salad greens. Toss.

🧊🎄 Christmas Cranberry Cubes for mocktails or cock 🧊🎄 Christmas Cranberry Cubes for mocktails or cocktails. These are the prettiest little festive ice cubes that add sparkle + color to any drink or still/sparkling pitcher of water.

We make these simple ice cubes year-round (we use frozen crans when it’s not cranberry season), but they are especially fun during the holiday season. And … don’t we all have extra cranberries scurrying around our fridges? I do! 🙋‍♀️ This is the perfect way to use them.

Kids love making these too, so put those kiddos to work!
