Lobster BLT Brunch Board.

Sweet fresh lobster meat, toasted baguette, tomatoes, crisp lettuce, avocado, bacon, basil, mayo, capers and lemon wedges — all displayed beautifully on a “seacuterie” board for guests (or family) to assemble their own lobster BLT creations. Because few things are better than a lobster BLT.

A love affair with lobster.

Lobster is one of the greatest things to come out of the sea (of course, it wasn’t always that way – it used to be know as the poor man’s food and prison food because of their overabundance.). Lobster is sweet, succulent and salty — and paired with butter or mayo, definitely makes the top 5 favorite foods list for most of us (Does that include you? It does me.).

Yes, lobster rolls and steamed lobster with butter are traditional favorites (and we love those), but let’s look beyond the lobster roll today. A lobster BLT has got to be one of the greatest lobster sandwich combos there is. A BLT is great on it’s own, but add fresh lobster meat and that sandwich is taken up a few notches on the deliciousness scale – especially in the summertime when fresh tomatoes and basil abound.

How do you make this Lobster BLT Board?

Grab a large wooden (food safe) board or platter. Then, lay out the following in rows:
✔1 baguette or 1/2 a double baguette, sliced and toasted
✔1 heirloom tomato, sliced
✔2 ounces lettuce – this is @littleleaffarms
✔1 avocado, thinly sliced
✔1/2 lb cooked lobster meat (we purchased the lobster meat already cooked and plucked from the shell)*
✔4 strips cooked bacon, halved
✔basil leaves
✔mayo
✔capers
✔lemon wedges
Assemble and devour! This Lobster BLT seacuterie board serves 4-6 people.

Brunch and beyond.

This Lobster BLT Board is great for brunch, but don’t stop there. Lunch, dinner and anything in between would be a great time to serve this board. And, it’s great for entertaining and for celebrations too – just lay out all the ingredients and have guests assemble their Lobster BLT creations how they’d like.

Instead of charcuterie, it’s seacuterie!

Have you heard of the seacuterie trend? It’s basically a charcuterie board except with seafood – and there are no rules, so you can add what you like – fish, shellfish, fresh, canned, cooked, smoked, grilled, raw, you name it. Along with your favorite seafood items, there are typically condiments – spreads, sauces, cheeses, spices etc. And of course, crackers or toasts or bread.
